Twilight Weddings - how do they work?
Ever growing in popularity, twilight weddings are now a large part of the celebrations we host here at The Old Parish Rooms.
You've probably heard the name but we're often asked - how do twilight weddings work?
So it's essentially a wedding ceremony later in the day followed by the evening party.
First of all, we'll work out the timings to determine whether the ceremony will literally be twilight or whether you'd rather say 'I do' and have some photos in daylight. Usually 5pm works well for the ceremony time so we'll pick the best time of year for the light you want to have - super atmospheric in winter or light 'til late in summer.
Then you can think about the guest list, perhaps you'll keep the ceremony itself VIP-only and have a larger party afterwards. Or keep the same numbers for the whole evening - we can accommodate 80 at the ceremony and 100 for the party.
So the key element to a twilight wedding is skipping the seated meal and cruising straight into the wedding party, keeping the whole event super relaxed but still really special. You could have drinks and canapés for the guests after the ceremony and we'll serve a lovely substantial buffet or food station later on - burger bar anyone??
As we're an intimate wedding venue anyway, the vibe works perfectly for a smaller ceremony then a big party.
We've put together the top five reasons to go for a twilight wedding;
+ It keeps the day really low key if you're looking for a less wedding-y affair!
+ It keeps the cost down as you're only eating in the evening rather than a sit down wedding breakfast as well.
+ Way less stress than any seating-plan dramas
+ There's no rushing in the morning, time to get ready and even relax!
+ It's a really cool alternative to the traditional running order of the day
Make the most of the awesome after dark atmosphere here at The Old Parish Rooms...and who doesn't love a great party?!
