How to make a themed wedding work
You can go with a theme but keep it cool and classy too....
Anna and James married here last year and worked their Alice in Wonderland theme in the most perfect way. By adding touches of the theme throughout but keeping it classic and elegant, the whole decor tied together really well without being too much.
Here's a couple of our top tips for making it work for you...
1. Consider what works in the venue. We're lucky that the venue can be a really blank canvas for your own ideas but you still want something that works overall with the feel of the space. The romantic and whimsical style of this wedding was pretty much ideal for the venue.
2. Tie the theme in across several areas of the day such as the invites and stationery on the day, flowers, props and other little details such as favours. Our advice would be stop when it comes to fancy dress! But if you can have little touches in the outfits too, go for it!
3. Stick to a colour palette so everything works together. From the florals to the maids dresses, if you keep everything on the same colour scheme it will look so much more unified. Anna and James had the amazing Blume on hand to make their floral vision come true.
Finally, make sure you choose a great photographer to capture those memories! Danielle Smith Photography has a fine art style which suited this beautiful elegant day perfectly. She also knows the venue well which is a huge advantage.
